Winterbourne House
A Public Bathing House for a Seasonal River

Interior Architecture, Graduating Design Project. 2026

Winterbourne House reimagines Southover House in Lewes as a public bathing and water-learning space shaped by the rhythms of the Winterbourne, a seasonal chalk stream that emerges and disappears throughout the year.

Through diverted water channels, floodable landscapes and spaces that reveal the hidden processes of the local aquifer, the project explores how architecture can reconnect people with the ecological systems that sustain both the town and its waterways.
